Although I have decided to use a combination of coax and cat5e, I am still wondering about the "loftbox" side of things.
I thought about the following..
1) Run at least 3 coax cables to each room (4 to main lounge).
2) Use a multiswitch (like the Global 5x8M)
3) Quad LNB (to feed the multiswitch).
4) Loftbox IRS.
This should then allow me to have the choice of Sky or Sky+ / SkyHD in anyroom ( as you would use 2 feeds from the Multiswitch). All I need to do there is get additional decoder boxes and phone connection.
Allow Analogue TV / Freeview / DAB / FM to everyroom (via the loftbox). Again because of the number of cables I could use a freeview PVR in anyroom.
Leaves the option open to use the return feed to the loftbox to view the selected sat channel in anyroom. Or have 2 feeds from the multiswitch feed the Loftbox.
The idea here is that I can neatly lay all these cables now, and then get the 4 LNB feeds to go to on central location, where I can swap them around at will.
Of course each room will have a min of 2 cat5 (generally 4) to cope with data and phone.
Does this sound like a good plan?
