Not too sure but I found this tid bit of info by googling your question. "CM12 is UK Spec and CM11 is USA spec."
The letters at the end ie CM12U means UK version and CM11F is for France oddly enough there was also a CM11U
What I think there is some firmware changes as it has been reported that the CM12 reports CM11 version 8 firmware so it might just be this. I've also seen CM12F as well. It is possible that the CM12 is just an updated version of the CM11.
    Anyone else any ideas????

From what we know (as resellers) the CM12 and CM11 are functionally identical.
For some reason there are 2 different product codes for what is essentially the same piece of kit (certainly in the UK), although I believe they may be different products in the USA, leading to the confusion.

You are correct that the U does stand for UK spec, meaning it has a UK plug and is 220/240v compatible.
Most (not all) of the X10 range use the U to specify UK spec. modules.

If anyone knows any different about the CM11/CM12's then I'd really like to know!
