    Networking your IR devices

As a keen hobbiest in home automation, I have been looking at various software packages to control some of my multi-room AV equipment, the main problem I came across was physically networking my IR devices (i.e DVD,MD player), after a lot of head scratching I found a product in the market called Global Caché www.globalcache.com which has originated out of the US. (tip, when searching in Google don't use the hat on the e !).

The UK distributor is Unipalm\Computerlinks http://www.unipalm.co.uk/unipalm/mul...media_home.cfm

These guys were pretty helpful but as a channel distributor I was referred through one of their established re-sellers (Techies Ltd). Unfortunately they don't sell direct which was slightly frustrating but at least I have a good support channel if required.

From the information provided I believe Global Caché are partnering, Homelogic, AMX, Crestron, Stawdraw, Simtrol just to name a few!.

Or you might be able to use the capabilities of the IDRATEK IR products which would then also provide access to much wider home automation integration

    See: http://www.idratek.com/SWInfrared.htm and http://www.idratek.com/HWInfrared.htm
