Newbie - please help - Satellite distribution

    Hi everyone,

I have installed twin runs of satellite cable to the required rooms in my house with 3 runs to the room where my Satellite Receiver, DVD (Sony DAVS550) and Video are situated, and have put an 8 output SLx Aerial Amplifier (inbuilt digital :?: bypass) into the loft.

    My questions are:

    1) Do I need screened or unscreened outlet plates, and what is the best configuration of outlet - Twin UHF/VHF or Twin F Type.

    2) What is the best way to connect this lot to enable whole house viewing of Satellite, DVD and Video.

I'm hoping that this is basic for you guys, and I will bow to your superior knowledge if you can help.

    Cheers

    Some stuff here...

We used Clipsal faceplates with ordinary coax sockets.

The aerial feed comes into the AV Room and routes through the Sat and TiVo, then goes back out into "Node Zero" (where you can see the picture of the 8-way amp on that link above). From there it's distributed round the house allowing you to watch Sat or TiVo in any room.

        Hi,

I am installing Clipsal Starserve system for disctribution, so that does not help, however I too am terminating with plain coax face plates from clipsal...
I may arrive late every morning
But I make up for it by leaving early.
