Potterton Puma 100 - Low System Pressure

Hi all,

My 10 year old Puma brought up the low system pressure light the other day, shutting it all down. The gauge on the manifold showed 1.5bar. I drained the boiler down and the gauge followed the pressure down. Thinking it was the pressure switch, I replaced it and all was fine for a few days. The light then came on again and stayed on. Tested the switch and it is OK. Taken the system pressure up to 2.5bar and back down again and the light won't clear.

If I link out the switch all works well.

Is there a reset switch on the boiler. Or try turning the power off then on again to the boiler.
Its just an idea.

you could take the switch off and give it a clean,it will meen draining down,
if you're going to do this i would avoid turning the valves under the boiler to isolate it,(they might start to drip).drain the whole system.

Thanks for the replies. The pressure switch is new and is in the normally closed position. It 'makes and breaks' as the pressure goes up and down but doesn't clear the LP LED.

Back to the drawing board. Maybe a PCB problem.
