IP/Network Microphone
Hi,
Does anyone know of a IP/Network microphone that can be used over Cat5e?
My client, who has a distributed AV system wants to use OneVoice (http://www.onev.com/mcc/) to control his media centres. But, obviously, as the media centres are in a rack and the screens are out in the rooms, I need to get the voice from the screens back to the media centres via the network.
Anyone got any ideas or seen any products that could do this please?
Thanks
Trev

Re: IP/Network Microphone
Thinking about it.....
Am I over-engineering this?
Would it be possible to simply put an rj45 connector on the mic and feed it straight over the wire? At the other end, simply make a rj45 to mic plug?
Obviously distance might prove an issue...
Any thougts chaps?

Re: IP/Network Microphone
That would work. You could use the Abitana Audio RJ45 adapter at both ends. Part number is ABI-AC1009S00 in the UK you can get them from Mini Tran. www.minitran.co.uk
A good description of this can be found here

Hope this helps.
