    Re: Irrigation

You are kind of correct. The sensor is suposed to simulate the moisture content in the soil. So its kind of somewhere in between a soil moisture detector and a rain detector. It is also very easy to set up and requires no programing as it can be wired to the common feed of the electric vavles.
IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

      Hi Paul

      >Frank - The 1-wire moisture sensor seems good, can 1-wire interface with >x-10 or xpl? Also the ultrasonic sensor looks really good. But as me tank is >tall and thin will it not get confused with "echo" from the sides? How >accurately would it detect the water surface?

I believe theres currently a 1 wire app being written for xPL.......

Not sure on the tank issue ...the Maxbotix sensor is accurate within 1 inch but anything less than 6" is registered as 6"........

      >Finally I have found Gardena do a moisture sensor; >http://www.twowests.co.uk/TwoWestsSite/product/COMS.htm

Have actaully purchased one of the se here in Oz approx $80.00 AUS ...But havent got around to installing it as yet...might get a few more if this one works ok.........
